Trendsetter Engineering, Inc. is thrilled to announce the recent award of multiple contracts to design and manufacture subsea production equipment for Noble Energy’s Leviathan Project, a large natural gas field development in the Eastern Mediterranean Sea off the coast of Israel.  Trendsetter’s scopes of work include multiple clamp connection systems, subsea distribution equipment, MEG filter modules, 2” connection systems and subsea manifolds. Trendsetter Engineering, Inc. is pleased to announce the opening of the Global Readiness Center (GRC) in Houston, TX. This facility, strategically located near the George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), is dedicated to providing enhanced subsea well control response capabilities to the global market.  Trendsetter’s GRC is located within a designated Free Trade Zone (FTZ) that allows for global response equipment to be staged near the airport, pre-cleared by U.S. Customs and ready for immediate export to any location around the world. Trendsetter Engineering and Add Energy have combined their expertise in well control engineering and equipment design to develop the Relief Well Injection Spool (RWIS). The RWIS is designed to enable pumping of up to 200 barrels per minute of kill mud through a single relief well utilizing multiple vessels as opposed to the conventional method of multiple relief wells.  In regions such as Norway, where the governing regulatory agency only grants permit to drill wells that can be killed with a single relief well, the RWIS will provide a strategic solution that will enable drilling of both shallow and deep prolific reservoirs. As a global provider of specialized subsea solutions to the oil and gas industry, Trendsetter Engineering has been supplying Subsea Accumulator Modules (SAM) throughout the world, including Arctic environments.  Trendsetter’s SAM systems have been deployed in a variety of roles, including as a simple BOP stand-by unit and as a key component to augment subsea pig launch systems. Despite the recent pressures on the oil and gas industry, requirements for equipment capable of operating at higher pressures and temperatures have not subsided.  Trendsetter Engineering, Inc. has continued to blaze the trail on technology development through successful qualification of the first high pressure, high temperature flowline connection system for the subsea oil and gas industry.  Trendsetter’s TC7/5 clamp connection system has been designed, manufactured, and qualified per API 6A and 17D and in compliance with all tenets of API 17TR8 for high pressure, high temperature applications.  In preparation for HP/HT subsea production systems, valve development has been another major area of focus.  Trendsetter has taken delivery of ten 5-1/8”- 15,000 psi slab gate valves from Advanced Technology Valve, SpA (ATV).  ATV’s 5” slab gate is the industry’s first API 6A / 17D production valve qualified to 400°F at 15,000 ...

Trendsetter Engineering is proud to announce the successful qualification of our high-temperature, metal-to-metal sealing TEX-5 gasket. The TEX-5 gasket is featured in Trendsetter’s proprietary Trendsetter Connection System (TCS) vertical flowline connection system.  Trendsetter’s TEX series gaskets are available in bore sizes from 2 inch and up to 11 inch and have been previously qualified at temperatures of -20°F to 302°F and at pressure ratings up to 20,000 psi.  The TEX-5 gasket successfully completed API 6A PR2/PR3 elevated temperature testing at 400°F and 15,000 psi. The vertical connection system is one of many critical components being developed and qualified for the industry’s first API 17TR8 & API 17W compliant capping stack. Trendsetter Engineering was awarded a contract to design, manufacture and test the industry’s first 20,000 psi valve-based capping stack.  This capping stack will be capable of containing high pressure, high temperature subsea oil wells in the event of a subsea well-control incident. The project includes the development and qualification of Trendsetter’s 20,000 psi subsea flowline connection system and various other components.  The 20,000 psi capping stack will be Trendsetter’s 12th capping device to date. Trendsetter has continued to lead the industry as a global provider of innovative, fit-for-purpose capping stack and containment technology. Most recently, Trendsetter completed work on a containment toolkit that can be deployed to minimize the environmental impact of a subsea well incident, as it can be air freighted anywhere in the world. This equipment is currently being stored at Trendsetter Engineering’s facilities in Houston, Texas.

Trendsetter Engineering is pleased to announce the acquisition of Wiltor Machine, a 6,000 square foot precision machine shop in North Houston specializing in complete turnkey, proto-type, and production machining for the oil and gas industry. This machine shop has extensive experience machining stainless steel, Inconel, titanium, beryllium copper, etc. and includes CNC lathes, CNC mills, manual lathes and manual mills. This new division will be integrated into Trendsetter’s manufacturing group, further expanding services and capabilities.
