Vice President of Manufacturing
Randy joined Trendsetter in 2007, kicking off Trendsetter’s manufacturing capability. As Vice President of Manufacturing, Randy oversees all phases of manufacturing, ensuring a successful delivery on time and within budget, while maintaining Trendsetter’s quality, safety, and cash management standards. He is responsible for the manufacturing and testing of tools for remote operated vehicle applications and permanently installed structures for subsea oilfield operations. He has developed numerous tools that have solved complex problems, returning production to full capacity in a minimum amount of time.
Randy’s vast project experience includes working with both the Marine Well Containment Company and Helix Well Containment Group, developing and building capping stacks that enabled over 25 oil companies to begin drilling operations post-Macondo. In addition, he has worked under extremely tight deadlines to produce multiple manifolds and support equipment for installation off the coast of Africa. Recently, with an emphasis on Alaska, Randy has provided oversight on numerous pieces of equipment to allow major operators to access these oil reserves safely.
Randy earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology from Texas A&M University and a Master of Science in Aeronautical Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida. Randy retired as a USAF Lieutenant Colonel, having served overseas and stateside in numerous command positions. He attained the rating of Senior Aircraft Maintenance Officer while managing aircraft fleets. He also participated in Operations Just Cause, Southern Watch and Iraqi Freedom.
